Common Rail is a next generation fuel injection system that uses a Nozzle Head Rotor that is under constant to inject pressurized fuel into the vehicle engine. The pressure ensures that the fuel breaks down while governing the injection that helps to mix with air. The harmful emission from the vehicle is reduced when the mixture of air and the fuel takes place. This is the highlight point for the outcome of engine's invention. It gives engine developers to further reduce exhaust emissions and reduce engine noise significantly.

The principle of conventional engine and the CRDi are almost same. The only difference is, the CRDi is controlled by an electronic control unit while the other was controlled mechanically. This unit regulates the amount of fuel injected and also the pressure used and required for both injection and combustion.
